A recent article that explains the obsession with page ranking http://seo-blogger.co.uk/2009/02/03/why-are-people-really-building-websites/
If you're going to write about it, please use the correct term - "PageRank" - to avoid confusion with where a page "ranks" in the search results. These are related, but distinctly different terms.
People like it because: A) it is a form of recognition for a "good" website B) their linkbuilding efforts become easier C) They can sell links on their high pr website.
I stopped caring about PR since traffic is king. I have a PR1 website making 10x more profit than a PR4.
pr is what i never care about but a lot of people on this forum do not even look for link exchange if the site has no pr. they are actually not looking for traffic and money rather for the honor lol
Because you will get a good place on SERP because of a high PR, especially for commerce sites PR has a very big importance. and almost I forget to say, money brings the honor these days
No. High PR does not in any way guarantee a good SERPs position Google PR quickie is a brief but accurate take on PR
I hate when someone corrects me on an obvious mistake. If you did not understand, how did you know what to correct?
I wouldn't bother if my site gets PR0 but top ranking in serps. PR helps you on selling links only, though it has a little impact on serp.
Generally Many people using selling text links and banner. and generate revenu though page rank site. Thanks
