Hi, I just wana know why Bloggers/webmasters care about Pagerank ? Suppose having more traffic increases Pageranks, then there are several websites having millions of visitors per day BUT their Pagerank is not even PR3. If blogs/websites that are earning huge money gets High Pagerank then why DP is only PR4 ?
Traffic and pagerank are not relative. You can get a high pagerank by getting loads and loads of backlinks, but it may not mean that you get loads of traffic. Pagerank is googles measure on a pages authority. Regards Chris
I hope PR algorithm is not so simple to calculate based on JUST number...... I think the placement of the link, number of other links in the page....trust of the page that is linking...... relevancy of the link are all considered (if not should be considered ) for ranking a site.... I dono how the algorithm is.... But in simple terms, the algorithm should PREDICT the traffic the site might get because of the link..... If it is done to perfection...... then people will understand the worthyness of PR.....
There are various reasons but the main reason people care about PR is link sale. Higher PR sites tend to fetch more money.
DP is actually about PR6 or PR7. It just hasn't been updated for a while, or perhaps there is a penalty in effect.
Not everyone cares about it. However in the past it has been a measure to see how well your SEO has paid off. With that said I do not believe it is a reliable measure anymore as it is easy to influence and does not relate neccesarily to how well your site actually performs.
Hi, Since PR might still be the only standard for measuring a site's value these days, IMO. Also, sites having nice PR would usually have better quality contents and back links. Traffic would mainly be judged by SERP but not PR. all the best,
Page Rank is an approximate measure of the sites worth without having to look in detail at other site factors.
Does G even use PR in SERPs now? You would think it would not include something it's not really updating anymore.
High PR as well all know has little effect on the actual traffic, but if you have a site like that you know others will see you more of an authority and competition. More people will want to get a link from you...
Page Rank is important because it gives a site's authority. However we must not overly concern with just PR, garnering traffic (and targeted) should be given attention as well. PR 4 is a good page rank, a normal blog site wont achieve a good PR except if they will build lots of high PR backlinks to their site.
