because they are just $1 and some of those directories (like RealWD Keywords) offer up to 6 permanent links, all for a buck.

All because who runs it ;)

Bigweblink only start in one month but got $1000++ now, only because Chris runs.

Cause its a sexy and sassy $ Bidding Web Directory $ owned by yours truelly

@ Paid hosting.... They are refering to buying links on very high PR sites like PR7-8-9 so i dont think
this niche is going anywhere as its more about advertising then anything else..

    thx

It´s a win win situation, you get a permanent listing regardless how much you bid. And if someone searches it for a keyterm that you come up for, you don´t even need to be a high bidder to come up within whatever keyterms you are targeting.

I don't know either. There is a good reason when there are bid directories for directories with higher pagerank, though. ;)

Interesting. It's a quick cash for directory owners :)
But how popular it is outside dp forum? I see that it's only popular here.

Just like other things like directory scripts are popular here and not out of the box of dp, there are lots of other things famous out there that dp members have not heard of. Its a big world nice.

reason is that it's like gambling. you hate it when people outbid you, so you bid more? :D

Bought a few as a punt although just had a look at the script developers demo of it, linked from their homepage and that is PR0 on the mainpage of their bid directory so not sure if this concept will deliver.

So many points to answer ...

Almost all of the concerns can be answered with one simple statement

Bid for Position Directories are a relatively a new concept ...

    • Only a few have been through a Page Rank cycle --- so most are PR0
    • Most are only a few weeks old --- so the rest of the Internet does not know they exist.
    • It is crazy bidding on PR0 links, but we also know the reputation of directory owners.

After the PR update link buyers will "discover" bid for position directories and my guess is the experts will come out of the woodwork.

There is plenty of room for growth in this area, articles and e-books, link arbitrage, bidding strategies, bid link brokers.

This industry is NOT even close to being fully implemented yet.
