I use neither. Namecheap doesn't offer the service that they say they do and GD has been known to take away domains from folks for any sort of reason they feel like.

Neither one is a good choice.

i have my own experience with godaddy...
    THEY ARE JUST IMPOSSIBLE!

i have registered my domain from godaddy! after payment done they asked me to verify all details by sending one Photocopy of govt. recognised photo ID!

thats bcoz i have changes my CITY name only!

after this.. i did checked on google about godaddy reviews and 99% reviews are bad!
godaddy always taking money after u registered with them!

    all the things are chargeable!

So i just registered new domain name with NAMECHEAP which i found great in purchasing method!
    great Domain managment!
and whenever i changed my Host records those are updated in 10 minutes only!!

so i like NAMECHEAP instead of those thiefs GODADDY!

i would like to give them good name like NODADDY ;)

With free privacy namecheap also offer excellent live support that could be the reason some people prefer namecheap over godaddy.

Godaddy pretty slow.. they may delete my domain if they feel my whois is wrong... they dont accept payments from paypal without an active cc.. they make take my site down/domain down if some1 complains so its better to stay with NC

I never buy domains from namecheap. I usually buy at name dot com and godaddy. Maybe I should try to buy at namecheap next time.

GoDaddy will shut you down without notice. I would be very carefully using them.
I recently switched to namecheap. One of there best features is that they offer free transfer of your domain. This is great if you ever want to sell your domain.

Namecheap is easy to use and fast. Godaddy shows useless info.

I think the biggest reason is that most internet marketers play the up sell game, and that's what GoDaddy does as a business model, we generally don't fall victim to it, and we know their prices on other services are outrageous, so constantly receiving a sales pitch is aggravating, and their website is designed to "pick" off off the laymen (so to speak) who don't know any better. Whereas, NameCheap is all about getting down to business with simplicity.

That said, I still have a domain or two at godaddy, but I've been working on moving them over for a while now (taken about a year + to move them ALL). Their domain recovery fee is OUTRAGEOUS.

In the past I have used Network Solutions, Dotster, and am currently using Godaddy. Honestly I have been happy with Godaddy and haven't had any real issues with them. I am always open to new ideas and have never claimed to be a professional. Sounds like I should do some research into NameCheap.
