why most people blog? is it for money or just its a good habit. what so special about blogging? Sorry for this basic question, but just curious to know. I never had the habit of blogging and if necessary i can develop that too?.

Blog is like a public diary per say. Some people use to write their stories, their feelings, their thoughts and so on for the internet public, just to share it with someone. Some people do it for the money, as blogging made few people rich in the past few years. You can easily set up a blog of your own and start writing on anything you wish, it may even become addicting if you have a few readers!
You have to enjoy blogging to make it work. If you like it: keep doing it. If you hate it: don't try to change yourself. Do what you love, and never quit.
I think blogging is a great way to release tension through thoughts or just pure stream of consciousness. And, if I am going to type my stories or w/e anyways, I may as well create a cool space to house them. =P
I blog because I like to write stuff down, I feel stupid writing in a diary, so I put things in my blog instead where I hope others will read it.
People blog to communicate to a group of people. It's a way to connect with others who have similar interests and passions. What I can't stand is when people use blogging as a means for private interaction between others when blogging in itself is a public method of communication.
It can be for both I would say most bloggers enjoy blogging because it would be difficult to write everyday if he/she doesn't.

Blogs are easy to manage and update .. its easy to write contents no need to worry about adding links /changing html pages ...and one of the major reason is most peoples dont know html/site design/hosting blogging makes life easy for such peoples and for webmasters it saves time like auto archieve contents and no need to update/link pages .. its all automatic
You'd be surprised how interested people are in your private life. You can write what you eat and for how long you slept and people will read about it. It's weird.

To me the whole blogging story is a bit weird in nature: Before: We wrote in diaries and kept them secret. Today: We write in blogs and strive for them to be read by others. (I'm leaving aside promotional and business blogs, however)
Blogging is a fun way of self expression. Also a great way to be connected to a hobby / passion. Also some do it for money but the ones that make money do it as a passion see the disconnect
I'm a creative type of person, so I do it for a hobby sort of. There are no advertisements on my blog in the first place to bring in revenue.
Some people do it to tell others what they find interesting and to receive an opinion from people that share their values. Others do it to get publicity in order to convert it in more money in their pay pal account or whatever it is that they use. I am beginning to see that blogging has turned into a way of promoting and marketing different products and services. Blogs and Networks are now blending to become the next big thing on the web. What's next? Nobody knows!
