Why paypal is not safe

I have seen many methods posted on this forum which are supposed to help prevent people scamming you via paypal. This is impossible, the only way you know havnt been scammed is after the 43 days after the trade where it cant be reversed.

Even the file + claim method is crap... they can ring up paypal and say it was all unauthorised, or there credit card company. Because the ammount of money is usually insignifficant they will automatically reverse it without much investigation, even if they do, its very hard for you to prove you were actually talking to the true owner. Even with IP logs, its still hard to prove that it was them.

In short, paypal is not safe. I highly reccommend using alternatives such as E-gold, Western Union, Money Bookers ETC.

My intention of writing this is to not start an argument about whether paypal is safe or not, as it is not safe. but to warn people and make them warey of who they deal with and to use alternative payment methods were possible.

    Hope this helps,
    Nick

I agree. I tried the claim method, but within a minute the claim was "deferred" mentioning that the claim cannot be processed.
But WU is worst. No way of getting your money back and fee is high
Money bookers is only good under UK jurisdiction.
It is better or a high time has come that we at dp create our on money transfer system...

I agree, that would be good if DP could set up its own money sending system, i can get a paypal clone? but its setting it up, i dont know what is required.

Hi, there is another solution to this paypal chargeback problem. Google checkout which promises no chargebacks unless you really really deserve it. I've written more about it here squidoo.com/free-merchant-account
