Why the hell do people even pay $5+ a click for PPC search ringtone traffic? It seems SO FRIGGIN STUPID!!! You would have to convert 1 in every 3 clicks to make it profitable, unless your on a crazy tier getting like $30 a lead! WTF? I seriously couldn't believe some of the prices per click I just saw in ADCENTER for some ringtone terms.
I can tell you, but then I'd have to kill ya'! No, seriously, this adcenter prices are pretty bogus atleast on Google. Try runningyour ad. with .20 or .30 as an experiment. There's a good chance you will get decent position, or atleast decent traffic. Although, the payout on these programs is so pathetic, I don't know why anyone would bother. I have this site tomasha.com which gets decent SE traffic on ringtone terms, but I only use it for link exchanges and adsense. I make about $5/day off adsense from it and I never think about it much. It's not even worth putting that mediaplaza stuff on it. If you know of a better program I could work harder on that site...but honestly there's so much more money to be made in travel/hotel room affiliate programs why bother with the pennies these phone guys offer....
I did a little experiment with AdWords and set my min. bid at $0.30 for some of the most popular ringtone keywords and it has only gotten 124 impressions in about 4 days! It's crazy. The average position is 20 but most of them seem to be around 40. The lesson here is that with AdWords you have to pay out the ass to even get any kind of impressions. The ringtone market is crazy.
