You do go on and on don't you I don't really want to get into the W3C debate again but not everything W3C validation identifies as an "error" is really an error - some are just not in conformity with W3C preferences (recommendations). Those "errors" will render just fine in all modern browsers. Other errors are errors in any book and will be rendered unpredictably by browsers. Google has the first kind. You have the second kind.
You have a point. Tell those page designers to fix your errors and then see what Google does with them. In the meantime, find a bunch of free directories to submit your site to. Look in the Directories: Announcements forum here.
I submitted to about 60 last night and I plan to do some more tonight. Hopefully that will be enough.
Honestly, I don't think you need to be worried about that. If we were talking about several hundred or several thousand, perhaps... You might look into the Coop Ad Network here at DigitalPoint. I personally think the Coop and LinkVault have just about run their course but it may give you an initial boost for the short term.
Thanks I'll check those out. What's the deal with me not being able to start a new thread? Here's another question: if I link to a forum that I created (not within the same site) that has 0 pagerank, will that be considered a bad link by google and could it hurt my PR? Should I go ahead and do it?
