yes,i always use orkut,but i just checked out that orkut rank is 139 in websiteoutlook.com,whereas facebook and twitter are in top 10
the main reason is that orkut doesnot give any benefits to webmasters, if orkut is written in javascript which is not crawled by search engine spiders. once orkut give opportunity to webmasters to promote their sites on orkut for free. like creating community and their profiles , community profiles are indexed by search engines, then i m sure. facebook loose its all grip from the market and orkut will rule. Orkut is the best is all social networking and they already proved it. orkut having their own traffic but other websites like facebook enjoying search engine traffic also
Because of Orkut do not has applications like facebook and twitter. Twitter and Facebook has lots of website api integrations, while orkut do not have that. Also orkut is just for friends, families.
This is so wrong it almost makes me want to cry for you. Are you saying that every existing member of Facebook is a "webmaster" and is only there for the SEO benefits? Hahahahaha.. wow. The reason Orkut is not popular is just that, it's not popular! Facebook has way better features, an awesome user interface, and practically everyone we know is on there. Orkut is ugly, not very intuitive to use, and overall, just.... sucks. The only reason it still gets any traffic at all is because Google owns it. Stupid thread, the answer is obviously clear if you think about it for 2 seconds. Twitter is something else altogether. Twitter was the first microblogging service that really took off, it shouldn't even be compared to Facebook or Orkut. Actually, did you remember that there was a time when Facebook didn't even have "Status Updates" at all and was only used for was connecting with Friends and writing on their walls? True story.

Reasons 1.Orkut is closed network 2.They don't have good application support 3.It is just a worst copy of facebook but i can't ignore it as i have most of my friends there.... yeah the indian way

Firstly you cannot compare Twitter with Orkut as they are both completely different. Twitter is completely new idea and very well in grip of world. You can easily see daily about Twitter in newspapers or news channels. If you talk about comparing Orkut and Facebook then its not sure which one is good. Yes, Orkut does not allows any benefits to webmasters. Facebook is even get worsen these days as they have now restricted the friends network to be not more than 150. Now when you only have 150 friends in your network then its not good for anything. As if you are thinking to explore something through Facebook you cannot do that. Even Orkut is getting too much strict. You cannot add more than 1000 friends (not sure about it). There is no other place where you can place your URL or promote it. So taking webmasters concern, both Orkut and Facebook are worst.
is there a way to get email addresses from Orkut since it's not as secure as fb and twitter, anyone offers this service? (hope my post isn't against forum rules)
