Why OpenHose bot sharing IPs with Googlebot?

    I was analyzing my server logs and noticed quite a few hits from Openhose bot. The user agent looks like this: "Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; OpenHoseBot/2.1; +http://www.openhose.org/bot.html)"

    URL http://www.openhose.org/bot.html takes you to password protected page. The main page of the site has only 2 lines and it's about web analytics. I naturally decided to block this bot and looked at IPs. Many of the IPs are known spam bots IPs but one... belongs to Google and it is IP of the GoogleBot: 66.249.69.40

    I got puzzled and checked the owner of openhose.org domain - it is yet another startup doing web trends: bottlenose.com

    What these have to do with Google and why I find Googlebot IP among known spam bot IPs...?
    I know it is possible to spoof IP but I think it's extremely difficult. Any thoughts?
