Why only 2 backlinks?

    Checked my backlinks on Yahoo and I have 644, yet on google I only have 2! Just freaking 2! why?

    The Google links: command only shows a small fraction of your total backlinks. You'll see Google showing a lot more of them if you have (or if you open) a Google Webmaster Tools account (free).

    The Google link: operator shows the *number* of high quality links (traditionally, links from pages with a PageRank score of 4 or higher) that point to the URL in question. The pages shown in the results are *NOT* likely to be the sources of those links. They do this so that other people cannot poach your links. For a more comprehensive list of the links that point to your own site, use the Google Webmaster Tools console. For sites you do not control, use Yahoo!.

    Both Adulu and rainborick are correct. Use the links reporter in Google Webmaster console for better accuracy :)
