Why now the registered username needs moderator's approval?

My friend tried to register on digital point, and after activate his username, he can't reply threads. And it was said that the username is still waiting for moderator's approval. But 3 days past, his account is not approved yet.

What's going on with the procedure of register?

 

It might be in a group caught up waiting for Shawn's review (not sure of all the reasons they can end up there, but we do know it happens sometimes when people change their email address). Nothing we can do about it unfortunately, as we don't have access to such things.
