Renewing an address, and getting a chance to fix a mistake! The time has come, the first domain i registered is about to expire - and I'll renew it for 5years. When I first registered it I only registered for 1 year - and quickly found out why not to. I was penalized by google. So let this be a warning to all new webmasters - if your registering a domain and plan to develop it don't register it for only one year!
Why would google penalize you for registering your domain for one year, frenchmen77 ? if this was the case, 99% of the domains would get penalised.
And what is your proof that the sandbox only hits domains registered for just one year!! You could of been sandboxed even if you registered it for over one year.
Google suggests 10 years though ... I mean the patent suggests it. And it doesn't mean the patent has been implemented. Haven't seen proof or indication for either one.
of course, frenchmen77 - it is good to register for multiple years as per the patent, but it doesn't indicate anywhere that if you don't, then there's some sort of penalty
BamaStangGuy, did you find any marked improvement in your rankings, just because of this? Did it help?
