Why not in Google?

Strange, never happened to me before...

I built a new real estate site, it's populated really good with about 30 listings so far, and there's some Adsene ads on it.

The was in Google's cache two days later, and Adsense showed relevant ads immediately, but after one month it's still not in Google's search results (I tried a site search for common words).

There are three other sites that link to it, including one of my own on another site with a PR3.

I was looking around - is there a way to ask Google why the site may not be listed?

You can't really ask them, you have to have backlinks and good seo. Try that and the little dissapointment is that it takes quite some time to get on google... I had some sites come up in 3 days , other never did, others came up in 1-2 months. Google's so bizzare sometimes ;)

Having Adsense on your site doesn't guarantee a listing. With new sites, the best thing to do is to submit your URL to Google and at the same time, submit a Sitemap to Google Sitemap. That seems to do the trick for me.

Real Estate web sites are one of the MOST COMPETITIVE markets on the Internet. I read once (somewhere, I'll look for the article, and post the URL if I can find it) that a new Real Estate web site may take up to ONE YEAR to become fully indexed in Google (and possibly even more than one year), as it falls into one of a handful of categories, that is so competitve online. The online market is flooded with Real Estate web sites.

EDIT: Found an interesting page on SearchEngineWatch.com regarding the most competitive industries for SEO. Real Estate is #2 in this particular poll. Here ya go!

Wow... up to one year? That's amazing.

I haven't done any agressive SEO yet. It's a great URL, the website is Boston Homes.

Have you tried a Google Sitemap? This could help a lot.

While reading throught he responses I was thinking this exact same thing. Submitting a sitemap would be one of best chances to get indexed by google, if your having problems getting enough backlinks.
