Hi guys. I have been searching but can't find the answer. I read the google guidelines not to index internal search results pages and heard that some other pages shouldn't be indexed as well.

Can someone please tell me why I shouldn't?

They don't provide any unique information to the user. Hence, you should not take the risk of indexing them.

Internal search results pages can also get a search engine bot stuck in a page indexing loop (on page doing search, to search results page, linking back to page doing search, back to results page, etc.) At worst this would cause the bot to time out before indexing the rest of your site and at worst would get your site banned for causing bot problems. So best to not index those pages.
