Is there a reason why Google does not show search counts for keywords (like Overture does)? Why does Google have to be secretive about the number of times a particular keyword is searched for? I don't get it...what's with the secrecy? And finally, is there a tool that will show me the number of times a particular keyword is searched for on Google?
Yes, the overall number of searches. Why doesn't google have a tool that provides monthy search figures? I'm looking for something similar to Overture's tool here: http://www.inventory.overture.com
I am not aware of a tool like this existing. I wish it did !!! Which leaves you with Word Tracker or Overture see my blog post at http://www.ju2blog.com/2006_02_19_ju2ltd_archive.html for the difference between these.
The more similar one that you have is the Keyword tool: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordTool under "Choose data to display:" Select "Keywords Popularity" and Sort the results by the "Keywords Popularity" Column. It do not shows numbers as overture does but shows "bars" per keyword. You also has the "Search Volume Trends" option that shows statistics along the year - try it.
Ugggh. I hate Google's keyword "popularity tool." It's not very helpful. Who wants to stare at tiny, little bar charts and try to guess the exact "popularity" of a particular search term? Why doesn't Google simply provide advertisers with exact search counts of keyword phrases? For instance, according to Overture, the term "cooking school" (not my keyword!) was searched for 50,541 times during the month of March. Why doesn't Google provide the same type of data? Everyone make a request for this...maybe if enough advertisers request it, Google will add it.
In beginning I didn't Popularity bars too. But after some time I figured out that is very nice way to see the figures. Give it a chance and you'll enjoy it in the end.
-https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordTool That works pretty good, but does not show exact numbers.
Google keeps the keyword impression numbers internal. Maybe in the near future they will share this with the public, but not for now.
