I have this site index by Google for specific keywords . . . in fact some of the sub domains come up as #1 or in top 10 search results for specific search terms. The URL is about 4 years old so I am curious as to why the site has no page rank....especially since I've registered it in many directories....commented on certain blogs with it, and have many reciprocal links to it, on a specific links page it has.
You have page rank, its 0. While I, on the other hand have a page rank of 3. How did I accomplish this in less than two months from a page rank 0? More links!
Since you have contents on your site, it could do justice by redoing your site, frankly I don't care much for the sites look and feel, I'm pretty aware that you dint come here for criticism but switching to a CMS like Wordpress might do some good. About the PR status, could had been that you link to a bad neighborhood? I would team up with another cartoonist and exchange link with them. Edit: The PR status bar is white, which is good and you seem to just needing more links or be link to a higher PR.
Yeah, start linking like a mad man. Relevant sites mind! Go see what your more successful competition's link weight is like. That will give you an idea of what to shoot for!
Since some of your subdomain rank very well by certain keywords, why do you care about PageRank? Simply, build up more backlinks. I have a site that has got 5,000+ backlinks. Some of them are very strong PR3 backlinks and still it is PR0. Since I am ranking #10, I get traffic and I don't really care about PR.
Thanks to each and everyone of you for your in-depth feedback. Well, I do have a links page. So will seek out more like-minded sites! I wouldn't know how to start on getting 5,000 backlinks (is that manually?)
Truer words have never been spoken... I wouldn't spend too much time trying to improve my PR if my site already ranks well.
If you still haven't got the PR... consider it as a blessing in disguise since you are being kept out of this mad and useless race! Ranking well in serps is the best goal and since you have been good at it, keep working at it and look to milk the same... more efficiently! Regards, RightMan
Great hearing this....I believe that I was too obsessed with PR. And if you type "golf cartoons" in big G, that page within this URL ought to come up as the first page....even though the URL has no PR. So I am essentially convinced PR is really nothing to be concerned about - correct? If someone else out there asks me to type in a certain search term, tell me....I'll enter it into big G and report here.
If you have build links and gain no PR. There are 2 possibily. 1. Your links has not being indexed / cached. 2. All your links are low quality Even it they are low that low quality, it does not mean no help at all. It could hep your site get ranking for some low to none competitive keywords.
In my own experiences, fresh and original on-page contents plus enough decent dofollowed backlinks would make any sites have a higher PR. Thanks,
Ranking is more important than PR unless your selling sites and flipping domains. PR can be a bit overated. If it is a concern I would have an active link building campaign where you are getting links in forum signatures, blog comments and article submissions.
Your site currently 0 Pr but why are you so worry about it's have pr or not, if your site gets good traffic.
From my experience having just links to a site won't increase your pagerank. Let met tell you the story of a site of mine. It's a 6 years old web site that used to get around 7000 daily unique visitors / day. A year ago it was penalized and I got nearly 0 visitors. After a while i deleted the old site and created another one, a site where I only had unique content. Within 1 month, I am not kidding, the site went from a PR3 to a PR5. So, you got links, now you also have to add some quality content.
