hallo iam offering free web hosting service (if you want to see it follow the link in my signature) , but no one wants to use my service i create this topic because i want to know the reasons, why someone does not want a free web site hosting service ? this make me to wondering a lot do you want to discuss it ?
May be there is a catch "$1" for account verification. may be people dont trust free hosting anymore! How do you plan to monitize the ad-free - free hosting, BTW?
Because anyone who is serious about his site or his business won't be using a free web hosting service
I think, cause paid is very cheap nowadays, so probably it's better just to pay. But if you are like http://www.000webhost.com/ you will have people sign up
most ppl suposed that free hosting will make our site low credibility and no guarantee will be fine for long term.
Does your hosting slap advertisements on members' webpages? If so, that may be a justified reason, especially given the minimal cost of contemporary hosting packages.
Majority of people here are making money from their website. So they don't want to risk their business by using free hosting especially the one that is not well establish.
iam agree with all of you guys but the 1 dollars its not "catch" iam must do this because i want to know the person ,the owner beacuse if this guy use my space for porno or for childporn or whatever not ilegal i must report him and i must know his data like name adress etc the law its very tight and i agree with the internet law and i dont have any other way to check someones data and second, iam give free space because i want to give a gift to a newbie developer
and also iam give free pure space for hosting no banners no ads nothing at all my servers are up from 2005 2 1/2 years at least
Have you try posting your offer in Freebies section? I think there are more people will interested, as there are looking for free thing only. Good luck!
In my opinion, the whole free hosting model is an unstable business model. Everyone believes you get what you pay for in most cases, and that rule also applies here.
People who are serious about their site wont go for free web hosting. There are lots of broken links in your site. i am not sure the links are not working at this time.
Go to fatwallet(dot)com and post your offer. Find other freebie and cheapie sites that list affordable/free offers. You will probably get good exposure at those places.
You can't rely on free hosting most of the time, simple as that - people serious about their business will not use a free service just to cut a few corners when you can get paid hosting super cheap now. The best free host however (hands down) is Zymic.com; they've been around for 4-5 years now, and are absolutely exceptional and offer a support forum, amazing packages, etc etc.
I learned from experience that free is normally crap. I took a free offer here for hosting with someone trying to break into hosting. It was nothing but a headache, I had nothing but hosting problems. I will never take a free hosting offer unless it is a company like Host Gator or someone with a good reputation.
I'd like to offer some personal input. Early on in my online business I used a "lifetime" hosting that cost around $200 - as the name suggests, it was supposed to cover my hosting requirements for life. I signed up - all was fine for a while. But after about two years, my site suddenly just went offline - the company ignored all communication from me, possibly because they no longer existed. I learnt a valuable lesson then - 99% of anything that's "free" or "lifetime" comes at a price. If you value your business and your sites, then choosing a reliable, well known host is one of the most important choices you can make. The fact is, you cannot expect someone to keep spending their time and resources to provide you with something at no cost, and forever. Life does not work that way...most serious internet business entrepreneurs realise this and that's probably why the initial poster is not getting many sign-ups.
What is the business model for a free web host anyway? I've seen many of these around but I don't really see how they are profitable.
A few years ago, I tried several different "free" hosts and was very disappointed. They were all too limiting in what I needed. I recently tried again with a host that had php5 installed since my dedicated server did not have it installed. I wanted to make sure that my scripts would continue to work as I had heard that there may have been some problems with php5 and the scripts. Dealing with the host was like pulling teeth without anesthesia. It was extremely painful and I never did get a server that worked like it was supposed to. Or they would force popup and banner ads on top of your site. Just not something I wanted to do was make money for them through advertising. My advertisers didn't care for that. I have since started my own hosting service. Mainly because I have enough websites to make it worth my while. Since I can't post about it quite yet, if you are interested, send me a pm and I will give you the link to my hosting services.
