Hi Ivan; I've done this on resource-zone.com but they have banned me because of i report spam. they do not want to hear anythink, if they spam web site is owned by a dmoz editor. Hi Anonymously; A classic dmoz editor behavior. if a dmoz editor has no answer for a question, they are answering which you have not asked or they start to attack the person who has asked the question. I'm asking a question to you but you are giving me an answer which has no relation to my answer. dmoz is the biggest supporter of spammers (i'm not happy to write this but the real is that) I'm writing the question again here!!
It's really easy to make claims like that when you are posting Anonymously Lets see your edit logs for some proof of such listings...personally, I don't think you are really an editor at all, and that you are posting here trying to just look like you are. You'll find that's about all he can do....though, I'm unsure if he is actually an editor or not.
They may just PM you and demand cash from you. I'm sure most editors are honest, but there has always been corruption in DMOZ. I don't think much weight is put on them anymore. About 15 or 20 websites in various categories I've been involved in over the last 2 years never made it in. I guess it depends on the category. I've heard of some on these threads getting in rather quickly. Just don't hold you breath, consider spending the 300.00 for the Yahoo Directory or Business.com. DMOZ should consider charging so the editors can actually get paid which in turn would motivate them. You simply can't expect much from volunteers because I'm sure they have a life and real paying jobs as well.
In fact, many of the most active editors would leave if AOL introduced paid listings, because we are motivated by the desire to contribute something to the internet community without any commercial bias. Some people forget that many hundreds of sites are added every single day, found by volunteers in all sorts of ways. The suggestions made by other people are nothing more than one resource editors can use if they choose to do so.
If this ever happens to anyone, I certainly hope they would immediately report it (including the email and all headers) using the Abuse Reporting System. Editors found to be demanding or accepting payment are instantly removed, regardless of their position.
So what would happen to them if someone ratted them out? Lose their pension? You seem like you're proud to be an editor, which is great......but you know everyone has a price.
As I said, editors found to be abusing their position immediately and permanently lose their editing account. And if you think removal does not bother people, you obviously have not read any of the many repetitive and strident rants from removed editors on this forum and others.
Well, my advice to you is to be patient and do not envy other listed sites. You will be listed on Dmoz. Goodluck.
