Are you using correct methods to get backlinks? Do you mean they are not indexed?

In basic link terminology, a backlink is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node. Backlinks are also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links.
first check the anchor text to evaluate how relevant it is to the content on a webpage.

add your site to the webmasters of all three search engines (ie. Bing, Yahoo, and Google) They usually all show different things. I use the SEO checker extension on Chrome. I can't see how there are none showing up considering you have a link in your signature that would constitute a back link.

Google link command shows up about 1% of all links. We may as well call it broken!

Best tool is yahoo site explorer for checking your links. Google maybe did not index yet your backlinks, just wait or try to ping all your links to help them index quickly.
