Don't forget that the competition for financial sites is very tough. You may be not doing enough!

Just forget it. If you believe you can get listed in top of search engines for financial keywords, you are so wrong. Oh, it's possible to get listed there, but only for persons who don't ask funny questions like this

have you checked the competition for the keyword you were using?, if the keyword you are using has lots of competitors, it is wiser to pick another keyword that will be easier to optimize, also focus on the relevance of the site you are putting those keywords, non relevant sites don't count.

What is the allintitle:keyword and "keyword" competition. If those are really high you're going to have a really tough time. Also need to know how many backlinks there are to your competition and how good those links are.

I'd actually go for the long tail of financial niche.

But then on the other thought, there are better niches that can be serped to #1 in no time.

Collector your competitor details on targeted keyword. Then analyse the competitor back links, you try to get the those links to your site. This strategy will bring you at top ten.

The financial vertical is one of the most competitive on the web. If you're trying to rank for anything remotely competitive in the vertical it's going to require a LOT more that a few hundred or even a few thousand cheap, low quality links from blog commenting, directories, forums, etc. You have to have REAL quality backlinks from authoritative sites (and lots of them) to compete in finance.

Well, if he could get at least one of his FINANCIAL keywords ranked well in SERPS, he wouldn't post messages here...

Best thing is if you tell us what you define as 'link building works'. Social bookmarking & blog commenting will do absolutely nothing in a competetive niche like finance. What other types of link building activity have you engaged in?

i think your competitior is old and high PR website, try to search another keyword, or use 3 word phrases that less competitor

Maybe you meant why was your site is not showing up with the keywords you put in. Keywords won't show up unless it was search.

    Hi,
you should also take competition factor also in to consideration, because yours a financial site it will very tough to rank for several keywords unless you do promotion for that keywords
