    Very nice article. Very true...
    Having a forum is not just a walk in the park.
    To make it work, you need to look at several aspects from promotions to content and user friendly soft/design.
    If you have a large forum, then producing content could be very demanding each day. I have therefor recently decided to shut down unactive parts of the forum, and rather work harder on those that are more used..

    One can also ask the mods to help you out with content building on the different parts of the forum.

    Mind if i copy this article for my own use :)

    I agree. A forum must be built out of passion and keen interest on the subject/topic.
    Persistence is needed. No forum grows big overnight.

    Also you have to remember that many forums are difficult to run, because of the complexity of the niche. Sometimes you'll have a subject that already has many forums, or a subject that few people are that dedicated to.
