I've been wondering that IE is always critized for being slower than FireFox and all that stuff, firefox is an open-source browser right? Then why don't Microsoft just checks out how firefox peoples have done all that stuff and get themself a better or atleast similar browser as firefox? Besides that, Microsoft is planning to get opera because their technology is a lot advance than internet explorer's, they have the source code of the best browser in this world, why don't they just use it? It hardly makes any sense..
Maybe they do not want to show that a team of developers without the technology that Microsoft have, have created a really good browser?
Well, Firefox is not faster than IE. I will say that right off. That being said, I can't work without Firefox (I have a custom extension for it that I use extensively). The best thing going for Firefox is the extensions, which really add great functionality.
Many DPers will be knowing about that I would say that without Firefox I would not even get PR for my sites.
The problem with Microsoft incorporating any of Firefox's source into their browser is that GPL. For microsoft to do this they would have to open up any source code that is compiled with open source code. Obviously they are not willing to open up their code, so they cannot make use of firefox's code.
