Why members so interesting about web directories?

you can do very well if you have a nice directory

 

For webmasters, directories present and easier method to get backlinks for their websites. For directory owners, they are here to make money with these directories.

So both directory owners and non-owners take some interest in directories.

 

They are useful as part of a varied link profile and can be quick and easy to acquire.

 

They can be set up relatively easy too.

 

It's useful for SEO and creating many backlinks for web sites

 

I think directory for webmaster is a way of income revenue, as for site owner is purely SEO. Getting traffic....hmmm, I don't think you will get a lot from directories nowadays....may be from MDOZ or Yahoo Dir, but not the others. I might be wrong.

 

Many people like directories becuase in the world of SEO it is probably the easiest way to gain 1 way links. Although I can't imagine Google passes much link juice from directory links anymore.

 

Almost all of them are in, for the $$$

The point is that people understand that submitting website at free directories, it is the great way to get one way back links.

 

Directories! ... umm
- minimum set up time
- minimum mangerial knowledge
- maximum marketing time
- maximum demand where backlink needs are concerened!

- income depends directly on how you maintain/ market/ and make your directory unique and a resource!

Directory owners make money. People who submit to directories get backlinks.
Since pretty much everyone here is interested in making money and / or building backlinks...

It depends on your knowledge and experience with building and maintaining sites.

yep i agree with you. Sometimes PR dropped to 0, so we can't guarantee it.

 

You wondered why people posting in the directories forum on this site were so interested in directories? Hmmm...what did you think we would be discussing? Blogs? Forums? Nah....directories are where the real action is.

 

There've a internal relation between webmaster and directory. Building a link with directory websites is so easy than making link with other or non-directory website. More than 75% directories are webmaster related which are made for link exchanging.

 

Another thing may be link building, Directory submission is an easy way to submit links with key words to related category. So this will impact to gain a high page rank and more search engine results.
