This category includes 5 sites. 3 of them are spam!

    1/ http://www.mydieta.ru/ Server not found
2/ http://www.wellnesspro.ru/ - sell the products. This site has to be in different category
3/ http://www.thefood.ru/ http://www.thefood.ru/ Denied: http://dietmake.ru/images/promo/600_200.gif (analysis according to the base of phishing web addresses)

DMOZ is consumer fraud and fraudulent device!

Why not just report them here:
    http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5453

or did you use the update URL link at DMOZ to let them know that the sites have been hijacked?

Be part of the solution rather then be a whiner.

Could you please explain that why because you found one site that was hijacked , that this means that DMOZ supports illegal site?

As you also claim there are many phishing websites in DMOZ, can you show us all the others you found. I am sure DMOZ would appreciate the help in finding them and deleting them

DMOZ is human edited so, don't expect to find only active and good websites.
There are categories without an editor, there are many things going wrong at DMOZ but still they are the oldest directory of Internet.

Maybe they read posts here on Digital Point?

There is a thread on Child Porn in the ODP that wasn't fully resolved for more then a year! Once it went public one would have thought it would have been cleaned up ASAP, but no... why was that? From the outside it certainly looked like DMOZ supports illegal sites.

Then there are those threads on paid links... sure positive feedback on a completed transaction on sites like scriptlance are not proof, but then, lol... what really is. But on the outside it certainly looks like the ODP cares nothing for the rules!

Count the editors that post on this board a lot... you may notice that most of them have been banned and banned more then once. Certainly goes to show that at least those editors care little for rules.

AOL even supported a BOT to auto list tens of thousands of sites in what's supposed to be a HUMAN edited directory... that shows from the top down rules were meant to be broken.

Why did I go from legal to rules? Simple, if you break one, chances are you have lower morals, and likely low enough to break the other.

Does DMOZ support things that are illegal? I dunno... but they do have categories for illegal drugs, they have no issues with having a section for porn, and they certainly don't mind breaking their own rules when it suits them... so you tell me... does DMOZ support illegal sites?

Then again... who is to say which of the sites was hijacked? Who is really to say if the site was added before or after it was a phishing site.

And as for reporting them to RZ... who are they? They certainly are not affiliated with the ODP or they would have an ODP url! There is no difference in posting reports of illegal activities of the ODP here or there...but honestly the best place would be an official channel, but sadly AOL sill not open one!

Are you sure that's official enough for Q, Jim?

Strange at RZ that they seem to be able to answer questions about editor applications and many other matters, which you won't get answers on here about. Still, Q, never let an obvious truth stand in his way.

I'm not going to bother quoting Anonymously... he is just trolling again. In fact, when I point to RZ she tells me that its not an official channel. How is that for a good reason to not use your name while posting?

And that would do what? I checked on the contact page of AOL and strangely enough they do not count the ODP as a part of themselves enough to add them there. I've also started a thread here asking for how to contact AOL yet no editor bothered to comment. AOL has NEVER given a place to discuss the ODP, editors have started a couple of forums, and a couple of forums have places to discuss the ODP... but there is NO official channel, and there is no official way to contact AOL or the ODP. And do not bother to point to the blog till the blog approves my comments or otherwise replies....

The blog is open it is an official DMOZ/AOL blog run by AOL staff, but operates like other sites and does not allow spammers to post there.

you must have seen my comments to know I was spamming! You must be AOL stafF!!!! OMG! YOU ARE AOL STAFF!!!! that or just trolling as usual! Seriously, you have only made my point stronger. The ODP has no desire for communication what-so-ever *sigh*

And as for the ODP blog approving spam... have you read the comments as of late? They are full of off-topic banter and link spewing... so don't even go there. I'm above spamming my sites to irrelevant blogs. Seriously, if you are going to try to make me look bad, at least use half of your brain.

You may also wish to note the original post in this thread, it's clear they don't mind dead links and phishing sites in their directory, why not allow spam on the blog, lol.
