For a short time interval, I have noticed about security bugs of Joomla. I wonder why is the famous CMS as Joomla the most reported cms for security. Anyone can tell me if I should use Joomla or not?
Every popular open source platform is a target for hackers. They have no reason to work hard to find vulnerabilities in an CMS that is used by just a couple of site. But if the security hole can help them to break into millions of site - their efforts can be rewarded. So don't expect you will install Joomla and then forget about security. Web site security is ongoing process. Joomla Administrators Security Checklist http://docs.joomla.org/Joomla_Administrators_Security_Checklist
thanks for the checklist. i agree that hacking has become a profit motivated. the wider the scope of platforms you can hack, the more money you'll get. similar to why windows is more targetted than mac. better to go for 90% of the market rather than only 10%.
the security focus is targeting version 1.5.x i had using version 1.0.x and from what i think it's more stable then the 1.5.x
