I wanted to post this a week ago, but i couldn't because of the forum rules.

like you see, when Israelis people working for provide Gaza fuel, they are shooting on them! it's spitting in one's face! 2 men killed when they work for providing Gaza fuel, so why Israel should keep provide them that?(Israel still provide that)

Great point. But soon enough you will have people on here denying that happens and will try to twist this into being Israel's fault.

Israel shouldn't give them fuel, but it also shouldn't keep them in a huge prison where they have to break the walls to be able to get into Egypt to buy food and it also shouldn't demolish their homes to build new jewish settlements

Is it really about getting food from Egypt? The last time the border between Egypt and Gaza opened up for a bit there was a suicide attack in Israel.

that is the law. if you occupy a land then you must provide its population with food shelter fuel medical necessities and much more. you also can not use their land and so on.these rules are made for all people. nothing special

what does the law say about not occupying a land with an armed band of outlaws intent on destroying your country?

nothing, it assumes that all the time earl.
the choices are either leave or annex the land and accept its people and provide for them i can live with either one. but occupation has rules to protect the citizens. to think that the current situation is acceptable is not defendable.

IMV the situation is unlike that of any other in the world. Hamas is intent on Israel's destruction. It took over in full last year thru a violent uprising. In its last acts in driving out Fatah it stripped Fatah soldiers and shot them in the head. They are simply vicious.

In a link I made on another post, a Gazan citizen being treated in an Israeli hospital that was near the border, and one who saw Israeli doctors save her children, commented along with that of her husband that Hamas soldiers move into residential areas, are armed, and shoot off rockets at Israel. The citizens can't do anything since Hamas has all the weapons. This link referenced how this family being saved was seeing the Israeli side for the first time.

I think they are simply murderous gangs of deadly thieves. They control the land of Gaza through the power of the gun. They have only one intent.

there is no elegant and easy solution. Hamas is neither easy to find or identify. They invariably blend into the population.

Israel and Egypt both have cut off Gaza. But Hamas of course only attacks Israel. To defend itself Israel will take steps to counter Hamas.

Sooner or later there will be one big ugly war. I pity the unarmed citizens of Gaza.

Throughout history, when people are attacking the "occupier" the "occupier" would just kill them not feed them or appease them. So, something tells me this is not the case. Maybe Israel wouldn't mind others occupying their land in a peaceful manner...

i can get in this tit for tat with you and we will lose an opportunity to discuss what we need from both side to reach a peaceful resolution. i think we can both agree that the situation on the ground is unacceptable to both side and it must be changed. we should try to start from there. try to find a peaceful path forward. we need to think out of the box.

Maybe you haven't read a newspaper in the last two years but Israel has no presence in Gaza, no settlements, no troops. Gaza is in the hands of Palestinians, it is their responsibility to secure food and fuel for their people. Not Israels.

I think Hamas has zero interest in peace. Gazans may want it...but not hamas.

If humnaitarian ships arrive....fine with me. they need to be thoroughly searched in every square inch...literally taken apart.

shortly after Gazans blew up the wall separating Gaza and Egypt they started using larger missiles with longer ranges to attack Israel. I presume they were smuggled in when the wall was down.

russian built and iranian built missiles are supplying hamas w/ longer range weapons.

hamas wants war because it increases its power so does iran.
it does not matter why war continues it will enhance their power.it doesn't matter how many die or how many are hungry. iranian govt will do their best to arm hamas to continue this conflict. the question is is israel also going to increase the level of hostility. peace is what defeats these extremists.
so maybe you agree with the removal of sanctions on gaza for humanitarian assistance. europeans can help in providing supplies so the iranians don't have to get involved.
peace is like selling a house. both side have to feel good about the sale.
sorry dave i forgot for a moment
    have a good passover.
