Why isn't my blog indexed yet?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by pchieng, Mar 10, 2008.

I guess this sounds a little eager, but I started a blog on Thursday and made a few posts, but nothing has been indexed in the search engines yet.

Just wondering if anyone had some tips on what I can do, or a seo guide for blogs or something.

    Thanks

My blog took 2 weeks to be indexed by google, the best thing to do is wait...
And while waiting, submit your blog to as many dir sites as you can, keep writing and posting articles to your blog, gather back links and make sure you optimize it properly.

Optimization is good for your blog, especially if you're planning to make money out of it :)

    Good luck!

Get some links from quality sites and/or blogs that are already indexed. This might shorten your waiting time

What have you done to get your blog indexed?

I would suggest submitting your to Stumbleupon
Write a few articles on your topic and submit them to Ezinearticles.com
    Comment on Do Follow blogs
Hold a contest and have people write about it on their site and link to yours for an entry.

It would take a huge amount of time before you can get your site indexed on a search engines. You can do some SEO while waiting.

Umn, I don't think it was..

It's weird because I have heard because have their site indexed within hours, or maybe it was a new post that was indexed in a few hours within a site that has already been indexed for a long time..

I am trying to be patient, as well get backlinks. Thanks.

the post on your blog can be easily index even for a minutes, in fact I already did it several times! check my blog http://style-trends-fashion.blogspot.com/ and search my title's post in google then you will notice several of my post indexed for just a minutes only.

The more unique content and quality backlinks, the faster your site will be indexed.
Submitting your new articles to top social bookmarking sites will help a lot.

If it's a wordpress blog install the xml sitemap plugin, this generates a sitemap.xml every time you make a new post. Add the sitemap in your google webmaster tools and your done. Last blog I started was indexed in 48 hours that way, and that was a new domain with zero backlinks...
