Why is Yahoo sending us traffic from other websites?

I mean what's the catch? Is Yahoo making money this way? If yes, how exactly are they doing it?

Please share your knowledge about this. Thanks.

yes, that is the main yahoo trick. people bid and think that they will get traffic from yahoo.com, but in reality most of the traffic is garbage and coming from totally irrelevant websites and these are not people who are looking for your product and most probably these are not people at all. you can block some of it using the blocked domain feature, but not all. many clicks do not even have a referrer so there is no one to block. and also you block some websites but new ones pop up all the time.

this is a major problem with yahoo. i opened i thread here asking openly the yahoo representative on this forum to do something about it BUT NO REPLY UNTIL NOW. THEY POST ALL KINDS OF NEWS OF SO CALLED IMPROVEMENTS AND NEW FEATURES BUT DO NOT WISH THAT PEOPLE TALK ABOUT THEIR MAIN PROBLEM.

Indeed, you are absolutely right. I noticed that too. Had anyone else had an experience like this?

That is the main reason why USA webmasters and publishers make so huge earnings from ad networks .

But webmaster those get chance to send such traffic make good money .

this isn't really true. if the people from these irrelevent websites aren't interested in your product they won't click on your ad. i use yahoo ppc and have no problems at all with conversions even from the yahoo partner sites.

Seems to me you should just make a list of the keywords that do convert through the yahoo ppc and optimize your site to show up naturally in the organic results for those keywords/phrases. Yahoo is a lot easier to optimize for than Google and you should notice that your page will list higher in organic results easily!

I have found that traffic is traffic. It comes down to how well your sites on page optimization is. If people dont like the site no matter how much traffic you get good or bad. They wont convert to any type of a sale or lead. This doesnt mean go hire the latest graphic desginer. I am just saying ask yourself one simple question "would you buy from this site".
