Why Is This Traffic Coming To My Site ?

I have an arcade website. From the traffic coming from search engines, a significant percent comes from keywords that are not even remotely related to 'games','arcade' ...something like 'noggin' or 'bullseye' or even some percent from 'flush' !!
where are these haywire search results for my site coming from ? and is there any way i can capitalize on them and use them for better traffic ?

what about the names of the games? Do any of those words appear in the titles of the games?

sounds exactly like titles of games...bullseye for example...darts..

you can make sure that these people are going to the game they are searching for..maybe if the referrer is google, send them to a search page for the term they want?

    A case of accidental SEO?

Did you check if you have ever placed those text on your content? If the keywords are not competitive, Google will display pages that contain such terms.

You can try using these search phrases to identify where are your "landing pages", then you can optimize your pages further.

    oh..ok i will try that ! thanks a lot !

its just that considering my site is just 1 month old, i was wondering that even if the keywords are not competitive, why would they point at such a new website like mine ?

Don't be surprised if your pages that rank at the moment will disappear from Google's results pages as well.

You probably have those words on games pages and since their is little competition for those keywords you site is ranking highly for them.

Or you have these words in any of your page meta tags OR you bought the domain and the *still* indexed pages of the old site are still giving you traffic.

check your meta keywords and title make sure it wont contain a weird words. sometime it's SEs faults as well take MSN as an example. they always give the unrelated site for your keywords result. if your traffice came from MSN there is nothing wrong. they are like that...

Check the titles of your pages and see what pages rank for these keywords. I think cianuro was possibly referring to your site getting jacked. Many times hackers can hack into your server and if php can inject SQL code. This code sometimes cannot even be seen by the average visitor although it appears to the bots. So look at the pages that are ranking and look at the source...search the source code for the keywords you are ranking for and make sure you meant for these words to be on your pages.
