Why is this not aligning correctly on phone browsers?

And a LOT of people turn it off or have it blocked. . Out of distrust (ghostery), bandwidth limitations (noscript), or other reasons.

Browser plugins to restrict or outright block users have millions of downloads for a reason.

Etc, etc. A LOT of security experts block scripting and suggests everyone do so.

It also screws over users on single stack aural, aka screen or braille readers like Brailiant which don't hook into existing browsers or programs, or fail to do so on scripting generated content.

There's also the compatibility woe where new-fangled scripting goes bits-up, so you're often better off via capabilities detection blocking off your own scripts from running for those users. The world does not revolve around the latest and greatest versions of chrome-likes; what with Safari aging like milk and the sheer number of old / limited capability mobile devices used by people who can't afford to drop a grand every two years because Tim Cook needs to buy his way into directorship of another sporting league.

HTML is supposed to be for everyone, and that's why good JavaScript should whenever possible enhance an already working page, not piss on any chance of it working without scripting.
