Why is this domain not registered since 2005?

I have found a too good to be true an unregistered domain with very nice name which is not registered since 2005 when it expired. But I am afraid is it blacklisted by some internet giant like google so that it is not registered. Is there a way to find it out.

    domain is xxxxxx.com, sorry can't say! :D

Have you done a google search on "xxxx.com" (with the quotes) and checked it's history at alexa.com or archive.org?

I'd register it. Worst case scenario you sell it on Sedo for a profit.

If you don't go for it then I'd be more than happy to know what teh DN is :D

be careful....im having almost same sort of confusion and figured those too good to be true domain might got banned by google. i figured a buncha awesome names, 5 of them are too awesome and i can tell you if they ur up with sedo, they have a big chance to go for $$$$....but what if they are banned? one of them first registered 1999 and the owner lost his love for this domain october 2005. i wonder there are any dumb might consider being with his wife leaving this domain alone! so whats the catch? probably it got banned by google so the owner didnt continue it.

no here comes a question...what would happen if we put it on sedo?

meh, if I found a great name available, I would reg it without caring if it is banned by google.

if you're going to develop it, you can submit a re-inclusion request to google.

if sex.com was available to reg, but banned by google, would you reg it? yes, yes you would.

I have heard if a domain name has been unregistered for long enough Google would unban it.

The only thing that would prevent me from buying a decent TL domain for a reg fee is if it was trade marked. Google banning it is not the end of the world. If it's a good enough site, you will be linked from other sites that are on Google. And as another poster says, you'd get type in traffic anyway.

Or you could still PM me the DN:D

What you think is a brilliant domain and what really is may be two different things. The reason its not regged will have nothing to do with Google, because people would snap it up regardless.. More likely its only worth reg fee.

very true. one other thing to note is that some registrars can report domains as "available", but in reality they have been reserved by the registry, or a trademark owner has requested they be restricted from registration.
