Why is the value of eGold much more than the value of Paypal?

If you noticed in the BTS section, people will pay $1 egold for around $1.50 or more paypal!

What is so special about eGold that makes it worth so much?

This rate (1:1.5) is only for small trades if anyone needs PP urgent I think. The standard rate for bigger amounts normally is between 1$ egold for about 1.05$ to 1.10$ PP. This is because you have to buy e-gold from an exchanger which costs fees too and in the B/S/T folder and in this case the member who recieves the PP acts as the exchanger so of couse he gets a fee too.

    Hope this helps a bit

I believe the mismatch value is not so much that the Egold is worth more but Paypal levy charges for incoming payments and the difference is probably to make up for those charges and give the paypal recipient some incentive to trade.

However, you should note that it is prohibited by Paypal to do money exchanges and with E-gold there is no recourse for any funds transfer. Usually this tactic is used by people who are either desperate or are out to con you out of your money and get your paypal account limited.

Check around, you will see people who has a few posts with no reputation asking for the exchange and then check out the countless number of people who complained that they received the paypal and sent the egold but then found that the sender of the paypal funds submitted a dispute.

Sometimes people fail to realize one important factor which is: gold price will always go up while dollar is just a depreciating paper money. That's why certain people prefer to keep their money in gold so that in years to come the money would add on in value. More like a investment which is why They don't mind paying for higher exchange rate.

To exchange what? As said there exists no exchanger for PP-e-gold exchange. If you are just looking to buy/sell e-gold for example there is Icegold (www.icegold.com), or Goldexchange (www.goldexchange.eu). These are the exchangers I use because these are European ones and I am from Germany.

    Thanks

its just another payment processor just like paypal. You can use it to buy stuff from other people who accepts egold as a paypal method and there are many.

Egold is mostly used by people where paypal is not allowed

I hope it will help you

who said egolds value is more then paypal? Since getting e-gold aint that cheap, people tend to charge higher fee for it in exchange for PP... But that also happens for other Ecurrency, not just E-gold.
