pretending those degraded WMDs are the reason or justification for invading a country and kill tens of thousands of people is just retarded

If you really think that then ..... there is something wrong with you

Depends on which part of the quote you emphasize, the beginning or the end. In the beginning of his rational he says he did not want to go further because the coalition would break down. Later, he says that breakdown would lead to chaos. I think the cause is the important part of the quote, but read it as you wish.

Seems like your solutions always involve sticking a dictator in control. Why is that ferret?

If you mean influental, as in a leader of a group responsible for the most violence and murder. I guess you have a point ;)

Bingo. Look how many replies there have been before someone hits this point. The case for going to war had very little if anything to do with WMD's. It was just one small, very small part of the equation.

At the time, there was NO PLAN... I clearly remember Collin Powel saying this at the time (as general) and Bush repeating this in the 92 election debats with Clinton and Big Ears.

    Oil.
Basing themselves in a prime strategic location in the middle east.
Oil pipelines to the Caspian Sea Basin.
    Haliburton contracts for rebuiding Iraq.

There are plenty of reasons mate.

It all comes down to money and Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney all do very very well out of it thank you very much. :p
The loss of lives out there means absolutely nothing to these sort of people.

This of course presupposes that the job can be finished.

Maybe Colin Powell and Bush Senior, got in, got it done, and got out for a reason.

Why don't you provide a source to the material that makes you think you are above everyone else in the knowledge cafe?

How about a source on how much Bush, Cheney, or Rumsfeld make off Iraq? I'd love to see those sources.

I'll even let you pull my finger if you do :D

    haha :D

Really though i don't think it's only liberals that criticize Bush for this failure. Colin Powell, Armitage and others were predicting this disaster years ago based on the troop numbers.

We should have used our brains, removed Saddam covertly (if it were determined he had to be removed), and continued to enjoy the company of our thousands of young people who are now stuck in Iraq (or dead / maimed) long ago.

I really don't see much criticism from liberals. At least not what I would call "criticism." Blame, accusations, doom and gloom, cut and run (and yes, there are liberal politicians who actually have a cut and run strategy) and those here who simply make up their own facts.

Honest criticism would be a step up, don't you think?

Admission is the first step towards recognizing a problem! I don't recall what republicans were calling "cut and run" for, or what they were claiming defeat for their country on.

Bingo! Write your boys in DC a memo please. Tell them that learning from their mistakes and regrouping is a sign of strenght, not weakness.

But use small words so they understand.

    LOL, I kill me!

I could have sworn I saw you posting in the thread about Clinton on Fox news...

As he stated there, Republicans were demanding that he cut and run from Somalia nonstop.
