Why Is The CB Index Going Down?!

ok so I've noticed that the CB index is going down drastically, it has been like this for a while. Look here: http://www.cb-analytics.com/ (Don't know how accurate that is) Well anyway and I've also noticed an increased trend of publishers offering commissions over 75%, Pubs, I'm asking you, is this related? Have you noticed a dramatic decrease in sales and that's why you're doing this? Well honestly I haven't experienced huge bumps in my daily sales, that's why I'm confused.

Also many other affs I've talked with claim that they haven't experienced those huge bumps in sales... So what's happening?

P.S Don't blame the economy for everything, I mean it sure does affect, but...what else?

Well. The big drop was April 9th, the removal of MOST of the P2P products. A few stragglers got removed in the next month or so. That likely accounts for most of it.

After the April 9th drop, you're looking at about a 2.5% drop over the course of two months.... not really that big of a fluctuation.

Do P2P products account only 2.5% of the total CB sales?

Please remember that gravity is not proportional to sales volume.
Gravity is propotional to number of affiliates making sales.
I'm pretty sure that 80/20 rule works for Clickbank - top 20% of affiliates bring in 80% of sales. Publishers can prove me right or wrong here.
So it's a question of were these 20% among those that stopped making sales?

Right now I do believe that it is the economy...

It does affect everyone, but big companies suffer the most. Clickbank is a good example.

Of course, don't forget about their "perfect" tracking system and "excellent" payment processing.

P2P means peer to peer or private to private.

P2P products: Kazaa, Grokster, and eMule...more

As tanakanewyork said already p2p are those programs used to share files with. Clickbank used to have many products in which you subscribe and they give you access to such downloads(like torrents for example)

Because they are mostly illegal, clickbank decided to ban those products which contributed to some gravity loss.
