Mostly Europe countries protest always turn into nightmares. A few of these countries are: France, UK, Spain, German...Its seem US people are most likely calm when they protesting about something. A good example would be the May Day festivities.
Crashing with the police, destroy private properties what does have to do with protesting?...A peace protest would likely bring results more faster then making a scene.
Americans probably lack passion. They are too busy waving their flags and singing lame country songs about how great they are. Europeans have a history of taking a stand for what they believe and aren't shy about smashing a few windows in the process. the problems in the recent protests were a result of bad policing. The police were heavy handed and the fact that they covered up the numbers on their sleeves smacks of fascism. And then to top it off they went and killed someone who had nothing to do with the protests, And then continued to lie about the cause of death and why he didn't receive medical treatment. So yeah, when the police act like murderous nazis expect us to kick off a bit. by and large though the protests were completely peaceful and even on the odd occasion where civil disobedience was advised by groups, like when the climate change group put up an "illegal tent village" for an hour, it was portrayed by the media as a call to arms. it's their way of bypassing the issues and focusing on the outrageous fact that some people were exercising their right to protest.
I see what you saying, but destroyed Gov and private properties that's stupid, specially Gov properties..They taxes money going to repair them properties..Anyway I expected things like that from third world countries not from UK, France, n Germany.
European countries have always had a long track record of revolutions and wars. We are peaceful people, within their societies Peace,
Because they think they're entitled to everything. They let their governments "rape them" then complain when gubment missed a poop spot on their @ss. "Progressives" are naturally violent, primarily because they achieve the exact opposite of everything they say they're about, like being civil and tolerant for instance. Contradicting statement is contradicting. Europeans smash their neighbor's window, Americans fire muskets at tyrants. Who's taking a stand?
The fact that you referenced muskets shows just how long its been since you felt compelled to take a stand on something....
I don't believe in violence or aggression. No need to spill blood or break glass in my opinion, peace, diplomacy and civil disobedience are always the first steps in order to bring about any real change. Mel Gibson expressed this truly American philosophy in a scene from The Patriot.. Benjamin Martin: "If you mean by "Patriot," am I angry about taxation without representation? Why, yes, I am. Should the American colonies govern themselves independently? I believe they can and they should. But if you're asking me am I willing to go to war with England? Well then the answer is most definitely no!" .. Benjamin Martin: "There are alternatives to war. We take our case before the King. We plead with him." Colonel Burwell: "Yes, we tried that." Benjamin Martin: "Well then we try again and again, if necessary, to avoid a war." The rattle snake in the Gadsen Flag is symbolic of the American spirit, Benjamin Franklin once speculated in a writing to the Pennsylvania Journal..
These American protestors suffered primitive conditions in which there was no bottled water or food concessions, there weren’t any big-name bands or Hollywood celebrities, and they were forced to use a Porta Potty! Yuck.
