A-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That's why I promised not to discuss Scripture anymore at a web-site. "Let's take a rational look at this..." LMFAO!!! You said "Show me where it says that Noah was allowed to eat pork" and that you had never heard of such a thing. Here's what I posted in answer:

Genesis 9:3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things

    again:

    Again:

Gen 9:3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things

But YOU are now going to rationalize the Word of God.

LOL... Wait till you SEE Him. Then explain to Him what it is He really meant to say, lol, okay?

Ok, that's fair. But I must hold you to a consistency standard. Failure to use one's brain when dealing with Scriptures also obligates you to:

    a) handle serpents (Mar 16:17)
    b) drink poison and not die (Mar 16:18)
    c) speak in a language that you never learned (Mar 16:17)
    d) perform exorcisms (Mar 16:17)
    e) handle snakes (Mar 16:18)
    f) miraculously heal with your hands (Mar 16:18)

I could go on an on. But it IS written, and denoted a sign of faith.

God forbid that we should try to rationalize anything, knowing that there have been thousands of years, and several languages worth of toying with the scriptures. Yes, that's right - they're MANGLED. Not to mention countless volumes of other books which certainly exist, but are not allowed to be "canonized". (as it would change people's cherished ideas and preconceived notions)

But you've got it all figured out, so I don't want to disappoint you.

Oh, one more thing, coming from the big cheese, himself...

That's a long way from "do or die".

Did you know that God does the healing - but it is us that sometimes lays the hands on the one who is being healed.

Sorry if you don't believe, but when you have something personally happen to you and the healing is there AND you see it happen to some others over the years, you will tend to believe.

And no satan does not offer healing so that God gets the praise, so if you believe in that JW garbage, don't bother saying it to me.

Seeing you believe the scriptures are mangled it is highly likely you are JW or chistian identity.

    Yes, Brother Hinn.

Check out some good old healing, right here!

It's highly likely that you are wrong, and only concerned with what you want to believe. Even Strong's Concordance can't consistently translate the same words at times. (and still maintain their doctrinal "flavor")

Do you really believe that garbage - that only JW's or CI's believe that the English translations are not 100% accurate?

Let me guess - King James only for you?

I personally haven't even thrown my hat in the ring. I have offered information, not a position. :)

next you will be saying things like robertson, blah, and blah.

I am not interested in people who I know nothing about. If the guy is a fraud or not, I don't know - personally think most anyone who has a TV show has it for money.

JW's want Jesus to be a transformed angel who is just that an angel. CI are all over the board probably because they came out of the KKK neonazi movements that believe the Jews rewrote parts of the Bible. So none can agree on which parts are right and which parts were rewritten, but it really doesn't bother them to much as long as it is the Jews fault for everything.

I like the new king james version, but I read different versions, most are the same with the Holy Spirit leading you. Of course there are those rewritten to mislead.

    Solid7: you write:

The Word remains on the tip of your tongue, never having penetrated your heart or understanding.

Yours is the kind of attitude that disgusts me and which I must now shy away from when discussing the Word on-line. You obviously are not imbued of the Spirit of Christ. You have only scriptural error and anger at those who can expose it so easily by simply reading their Bible.

With you the Word of God is nothing more than a loaded gun in the hands of a child aimed precariously at himself and all others young enough or weak enough to linger in the vicinity.

Shhh... calm down child of the island. Pork makes people all crazy when either a). they don't understand their Bible. b). they are one of two other faiths that simply don't eat the stuff, or 3). like you, they don't understand anything ;)

I mean, like, so wow, dude, the thread is not all about-like "PORK...?" No, it is not. But rather asks why, in some religions, is it considered "unclean." The entire thread is from a religious perspective begging a systematical theological question.

INcidentally, I like pork, but I will not have a cult man use the Bible, and the topic, to say anyone who views the Word of God differently than he is "brain-dead" anymore than I will stand for a child of the island telling me to shut-up about my beliefs. At least Solid7 got it right when he noted this IS a forum on religion, so anyone who doesn't want to hear its relativity to any topic is obviously in the wrong place to begin with.

Go have a John Courage on me.

    I like that. It's funny.
I don't like that - it's rude. It also makes the supposition I have little understanding of religion - which isn't true.

Yes, why pork is considered 'unclean' by some religions - not who is the 'best Christian'.

I didn't tell you to shut up - I told you to get a grip. You're arguing about being a 'better Christian' than someone else - that's just fundamentally wrong.
Yes, this is the forum for religion and related topics and yes, this is a thread about a religious topic but you're arguing about who is better Christian.
    Never heard of it.

    Doubt it.

We really should try to come up with some fitting slogans -

e.g. Pork Board gets heavy-handed with boobies
Pork Board tell's breastfeeding mom to cease and desist
Pork board makes a splash in other white milk

I hope you're not talking to me. I never claimed to be a "Christian". Again, I'm just using information. If it upsets people, I can't be blamed.

    I second that.

I'm pretty sure that Dead Corn hasn't a clue who either of us are. And judging by the words of his/her mouth, I'm quite certain - speaking for myself - that I'm probably just a tad bit older, and possibly a good bit wiser.

Don't worry, Dead Corn. You have time to grow up, (as did I) and I'll not hold the foolishness of your (raging) youth against you.

If you're not an adolescent or early twenty-something, then I just plain feel sorry for you. ;)

Like I said before, solid7, the Word of God remains on the tip of your tongue, never having penetrated your heart or mind.

McFox, you simply don't understand anything.

"The Bible is God's chart for you to steer by, to keep you from the bottom of the sea, and to show you where the harbor is... If you have been reading it to satisfy curiosity; or to see if you could not catch a Universalist; or to find a knife with which to cut up a Unitarian; or for the purpose of setting up or taking down some bishop somewhere; or to establish or overthrow any sect - if you have been reading it so then stop. It is God's medicine-book. You are sick. You are mortally struck through with desease. There is no human remedy for your trouble. But here is God's medicine-book. If you read it for life, for growth in righteousness, then blessed is your reading; but if you read it for disputation and dialectical ingenuities, it is no more to you than Bacon's 'Novum Organum' would be.

. I would personally think that the shirt fell under legally protected parody.

Austin powers is nothing BUT A parody movie poking fun at stuff, so it'd be hard to claim it was anything but though.
