hi all, quick question Why is Page rank important and why is a page rank better, does it help with indexing? or what else?? plz help thanks
It is Google's way of saying how important they think your site is. For some people, seeing that little bar all filled up with green can make their day. Others could care less. Does it help with indexing? Not really, but you will see that sites with higher page rank tend to get crawled more frequently, because they update their content more frequently so that visitors are kept abreast of the latest news.
Aside from that, I think Page Rank is good because you can easily exchange link with other sites when you have higher page rank because some webmaster have used this as their basis for exchanging links.
Google ranking the the site , this is good bcz helping he site to get good position in SERP. And also will get more click for high PR sites. To get PR5 has to do lots of effort in SEO, so this will hlelp a lot in traffic, traffic,PR related according to me
Google Tool bar ranking(Google PR)- It is the rating by google for any page, how important is it in google algorithm. When good google PR pages giving the vote to particular page(means linking to that page) will help to increase the page rank(PR). If you are getting link at particular anchor text or keywords then your ranking will also increase in google search engine results.
go and search "how google works", it's just simple key phrase.. and read some PageRank and SERP please stop calling urself SEO.. people go for pagerank because it affects as NO 1 priority in SERP.. why search keyword "google" results www.google.com instead of you and my website? simply thinking and read how things work will help you do better SEO... Might I suggest
Generally the top 10 for a phrase in Google will have a higher PR than those sites outside the top 10. But PR is only 1 factor affecting rankings.
Hi...guys am also thought before that Google- PR is just a tools ranking and not effect on SERP. but am realize that PR is as much important to get listed in serp, its simple calculation....... before giving PR to any site Google count its link back include Google webmaster tool which are most appropriate with that site and after that it show back link and PR too. if your site has good number of back link and less PR or vise versa .......it all depend on too many factor .........for that you have to read google guide line But PR of site is one factor of google algorithm which effect on SERP result your site can't perform in SERP on only basis of high PR .....but its good on On page and off page optimization point of view. in short google bot want to see all aspect of their algo in your site....... so do your best for your site all the best
PR is a visible explanation of the 'weight' Google attaches to a site based on a number of factors, the most important of which is how many backlinks your site has (how many 'votes' the users of the internet give you). It's not important per se for serps, but the underlying reason for pagerank IS important. In other words, pagerank is an abstracted concept extracted from VERY important underlying search engine methodologies. As the prev poster also said, if you want to sell links, PR is usually the way people value the link.

My understanding although i'm no expert is that the Google PR indicator does indeed have a positive effect on a sites position within the SERPS. As far as i understand, a percentage of PR is passed when a site (if they have PR themselves) links to a page within your own site. This in effect counts as a vote for that page. The more sites that link to a specific page(s) the higher the PR passed given that page it's own PR ranking. The more PR a page receives from links on other ranked pages the more importance that page has to the Google algo resulting in a boost in the SERPS over non-ranked pages. Thats my understanding.
I always thought of it as one of many factors that determines the your serp. Although, there are exceptions to any rule, generally results on the first page have higher PR.
Although PR does have no bearing on your SERPS....surely the techniques for getting PR and getting better SERPS are very similar? eg getting backlinks?
Matt Cutts keeps saying that page rank matter but the proof in the community shows that it does not mean much. My bussiest sites that earn me the most in adsense and have loyal readers are all PR 0
