Why is my home page ranking higher than my individual page results?

A strange thing that has been happening is that my root or home page is ranking higher than my individual pages for content.

For example:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...&hs=kJa&q=windows+7+ringtones&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g1

Keyword: Windows 7 Ringtones

You will see that the 2nd result (my site is windows7center.com) is my home page. But I'm sure my individual page is much more relevant, so why is this? This happens for many other keywords as well

 

its because of strength of your home page is higher than individuals pages

 

I believe goodle have no idea about what is core page and what is not and rank web sites according to their own algorithm

i think you r having more links for your home page then remaining pages.

home page is the main page of any website where most visitors comes first so that is very important.
for e.g the main door of your house is more important than the doors of your internal rooms, b'coz anybody comes to your house enters from the main door first.

And that is the page for which you can target many keywords.

 

it is but that despite that, Google can usually tell the original or individual page that is related to the article, and can tell which domain it is coming from, so it can generate a relevant result.

My home page is not a relevant result because my site is a news site and my articles disappear from the home page 1 day after their posting. This is what surprises me
