First off, the buyer of the domain name initiated the transfer late last night. The domain was registered for 59 days yesterday. He is with godaddy and I am with bloober.com. Today is the 60th day. Godaddy said that they will send the confirmation email today, which is day 60. Iv'e been waiting all day and no email. Is there anyway for him to resend the confirmation email or something. Or could this be on my end? Thanks in advance for the help! BTW, the domain is associated with hosting plan on my account with bloober, and the domain is unlocked. That shouldn't matter right? Thanks
The Domain definitely needs to be unlocked. If he transferred the domain name to his end but it did not qualify for the 60th hold period, it would be rejected on his end and he can request for another transfer. First off, the new owner will need to confirm the transfer request first then at which point, you will be ask to confirm it. It may take a couple of days for that to happen. No worries, no one would lose any money over this or lost the domain name for that matter.
No the buyer says that the 60 day timer reset on the domain, and i'll have to wait another 60 days to transfer the domain name, That should not be the case at all right? Should I have him resubmit the transfer request at godaddy?
Simple way out, unless you MUST have the transfer of registrar done immediately. Since you said it's been regged for 59 days so far, there's still about 10 months to go on the current registration. Get yourself a free godaddy account, and ask him to push it to you - as far as I know, the 60 day restriction doesn't hold for push within the same registrar. When he pushes it to your account, update your details + contact email - that will reset the transfer clock to a new 60 day restriction. Leave the domain unlocked (when you initiate the transfer 60 days later, you don't want to change anything on your reg. and trigger off another 60 day restriction). 60 days later (or allow 1 week extra to be sure) - transfer the domain as you please - you are on both ends of the transfer, can ensure that it goes through smoothly.
The domain name is at bloober right now, not godaddy, it is being transfered to godaddy? I am going to use my godaddy account to try and transfer the domain to my account and see what happens. I did unlock the domain name yesterday, would that have reset the clock on the domain name?
Ok, I just tried to initiate a transfer to my godaddy account and it gave me an error. Suck, I think the clock did get reset on the domain. The buyer said the estimated transfer date is now march 3rd not Jan 3rd, that's exactly 60 days from now. AHHHHH!
Then you need to talk to bloober because they are probably the ones preventing the domain name from being transferred.
From what godaddy said, bloober.com uses enom to register the domain names. Somewhere along the line, one of them is not letting the domain name go? What now?
I guess the other option might be to have the buyer create an account in bloober.com and do a push there.
