Why is my CPC so low?

I have a website about rims for cars that runs adsense. I know that keywords around rims are competitive and aren't cheap to buy. But for some reason, I tend to mostly only get $0.02 to $0.04 a click. If I am lucky, I would get a click for $0.1, but majority of them are low.

I have content on my site targeted at keywords. So can anyone tell me why my CPC is so low? I get hundreds of clicks everyday, and I make decent money due to the volume. But I know my CPC is low and I can make a lot more if I can increase it just a little.

    Thanks.

Filter low paying ads out. Check the urls of ads on your site. Do not click the urls just find name and go to site. Look and see if they have adsense ads or are search engines. If so filter them out they pay very little.

i have already set up the filter a while back. all the ads I see now are from stores that actually sell rims, but the CPC is still low.
