I ran the same ads to the same landing pages in August and September, yet my conversion rate has dropped substantially this month. Thus My CPA is UP. -The Average CPC from month to month is about the same, with minor variances only. -The Average Position Of My Ads In August Went Up To 6.8 From 7.3 For The Most Important Keywords. (This could mean more "explorer" clicks, but the difference s is not that significant) -I have not made any significant changes to my Keywords or Bidding. So, in your view, what are the possible factors that could effect a significant montly drop in conversion percentage, given the ads and landing pages are the same? Your help is much appreciated. SZ
Is the product your promoting a season product? that would decrease your CR. Could be scrubbing by the merchant. Could be increased competition fueling sales from your competitors rather than your site.
"Scrubbing" refers to the term when a merchant doesn't like the leads you are bringing in. So they decided not to pay on all the leads you complete. This is usually with an email submit type of offer and what happens is the traffic you are bringing in doesn't convert on their end. Therefore, they are losing money and so they 'scrub' the leads. It's not very cool and not as common outside of Email submits. If you're running an offer that is NOT an email submit I'd assume that it was other factors and not scrubbing.
No, I don't think it's scrubbing. It's more more likely it's something our competitors are doing. No one has heard any word about google changing anything with their PPC system have they? Let me know if you hear anything, Thanks for your repplies, SZ
