Why is my bounce rate skyrocketing?

    Hi,

I have started a new site. The bounce rate is sky rocketing and I have no idea why, I thought maybe it's connected to the upload time but it doesn't make sense anymore. If it is, how do I lower it? I tried making the images smaller and it didn't help that much.

I would really appreciate any advice as to why people don't spend even 2 seconds on this page - Kids-safety-world

Any reviews will be appreciated, tips... I don't know what to think.

A thought is that a lot of unwanted bots are crawling through your site. I'm not talking about Google, Yahoo and such, Evil Bots..

I never thought about that. How do I know if that is the case?

And if so, is it possible that they are all coming from paid ads?

Try to setup some traffic monitoring script. BBclone is a good script for your purpose since it's giving very detailed statistics.

Does ur server gets too slow at times? Slow loading pages cause lots of visitors to leave the site...

Yes my server gets slow and I don't know how to improve the loading time.
    I've reduced my pictures sizes.
Is there anything else that can be done?

You should use a coaching plugin, that will reduce the server load.

Have you been submitting to social bookmarking sites? If so that will send your bounce rate through the roof.

Sites like stumbleupon and digg have an average bounce rate of about 90%. I have even seen it as high as 96%. So lets say that you have an average bounce rate of 60%. You do some social bookmarking, then figure in that extra 90% bounce rate. You may get a lot of traffic, but your bounce rate spikes.
