Hi, I've developed a 'fmylife' style website dedicated to the mobile game Flappy Bird. Although I have received a lot of traffic, the bounce rate is still really high (90.09%) Could anyone take a look and tell me what I can do to decrease this? http://www.flappyfail.com/index Thanks
While you likely would get a lot of traffic, the content is generally comment-based and also based on such a simple game that not much can be said about it. People's interest in reading other peoples opinion about such a simple game will likely induce a high bounce rate, and also peoples interest in posting about the game is likely limited by the fact that there is nothing left to say about it that hasn't already been said. Not sure if any of this is the case, but that is my take on it. The design is nice, simple and easy on the eyes. I would maybe create new sections to allow more content to be generated. Such as Flappy Bird videos, tips on playing the game, maybe build a voting system to determine the best Flappy fail (and maybe offer some sort of prize to entice people to post their fails). Maybe even making it so that the homepage doesn't show as many fails at once so that your visitors can't just read the fails then leave without browsing, for example put a majority of them on a subpage so they stay on longer and have to click through a few pages to read them. I'm sure you could come up with other ideas but generally want to create content that interests users in staying on the site longer than they are.
Thanks I really appreciate your input! I think you're right about everything (never thought of people just skimming the comment's then leaving) I'll reduce the comments per page and maybe try to add some more non-comment related stuff. Thanks again
A good way to lower bounce rate is to add relevant YouTube video embed and perhaps pictures. Generally try to make the page look more appealing.
Because people hitting your site are likely looking for Flappy Bird rather than stories about it. Nice site but think about this as a long term project, what's gonna happen when Flappy Bird fad dies in a couple of weeks (or months!). Now you've got a site with no traffic and no reason to continue. Just something to think about.
Honestly I think your website is not visually attractive plus the content is not that good. If you can implement some good changes (needs to be thoroughly analyzed) - you will be fine.
Hi, submit some content in home page about your website in which people will understand what is the subject of website..
I checked your website bounce rate, it was 60, Any how, bounce rate will goes high because two reasons Audience are not satisfied with your website content! reached irrelevant audience!, so use this way keep your website content should be strong and unique target the relevant audience for your website. Then see the response.
