Why is Mesothelioma Such a High Paying Keyword?

Why does mesothelioma remain such a high paying keyword, even after asbestos litigation calmed down in the states? Since mesothelioma is no longer the litigation "hot topic", why does it remain the most popular adsense keyword? One would think that another class action topic would become the more popular keyword. Can anyone shed some light on the mesothelioma situation for me please?

Two reasons I can see. One is for the lawyers, and the other is that the medical profession have written so much on it. There are over 6,900,000 hits on google for it.

There is so much to be maid by lawyers from litigation over Mesothelioma cases and if you notice it is the mesothelioma lawyers or attorneys keywords that are getting the high paying keywords.
And on top of that it has a lot searches from Google so that makes it more a much needed commodity so to speak and too many advertisers driving the ad placement fees for adwords.

    Thanks,

I know this is obvious to some, but in my experience as a writer, there's plenty of demand for the topic as well as the actual medical/litigation stuff. Clients are still paying good money for articles and content with Mesothelioma keywords, and I've made a good deal of money providing that content. The client demand is driving the train, at least in part.

Plus it's on television ads so much that if nothing else, people are Googling it just to see what all the fuss is about. The causes are diverse--some Navy duty was exposing people to asbestos, and there's a HUGE cancer cluster waiting to happen because of 9/11. That's a bit of an underreported story but there are those who claim NYC will see a spike in Mesothelioma cases at some point due to the exposure caused by the tower collapses.

A real tragedy for anyone exposed or diagnosed (Libby, Montana still scares the crap out of me)...so I think Mesothelioma will be active as an SEO topic for quite some time.
