Why is Keyword Tracker way off base for Google keywords

I have been using Keyword Tracker for the past 4 years and for the most part the results have been correct for Google, Yahoo and MSN.
For the past month (at least) the Yahoo and MSN results are dead on but the Google results aren't even close. They show N/A in many of my keywords when, in reality, if I go to Google.com and look for those same keywords some of them show up on pages 1 or 2 or 3. Actually I prefer it that way rather than good results according to the reports but not actually listed.
Can anyone tell me why this has been happening constantly?
Examples are aircraft charters and airplane charters

    Lars,

it is interesting that you have had no response. I posted a similar problem some time ago - and got no response. Today I have done a double check on keywords that we have dropped on after a big change in the site. Tracker says they are still off-scale - but Google says they are at No 1!!

My examples "Test Equipment" and "Used Test Equipment" for www.testequipmenthq.com

Can someone at Digital Point give us a response???

    PLEASE?

The keyword examples I used are for www.corporatecharters.ca
It doesn't make sense. If this continues I see no need to use Keyword Tracker, I'll just go to Google once a week and check the positions directly. Since I have approximately 15 keywords to check and although it will be a pain at least I'll have the correct info.
Please let me know if you get some feed back from Digital Point, I'm really surprised they haven't answered either of us.

isn't the main purpose of a keyword tracker to show how many daily searches there are for a certain phrases ...

why do you need to know the search position

    Mashup,

I think you have this very wrong. Keyword Tracker is designed to tell you the position in a search engine's (mostly Google) results. So it is a very important tool to save effort doing the work manually.

I would say try it and see - but as it appears to be unreliable currently wait a while and see.

I'm having the same problem with my account for Keyword Tracker. Keyword Tracker reports Google results as N/A even when my site (elrancho.com.mx) is in hte first or second page of results.

I'm guessing that since the SOAP API is no longer supported and since Shawn is probably busy with other things, something that the system depends on has broken and nobody cares enough to fix it. Bummer for us!

Somebody recommended an alternative tool, which i'm checking out now - Rank Tracker from link-assistant.com. They have a free version to evaluate, which seems pretty complete for basic purposes.

Good luck in your keyword tracking!
