Why is it you have been unlucky with Chikita, is it your poor content or Chikita?

    Hello Folks,

I've just registered to Chikita tonite - I have been debating wether or not I should put some ads on my site and I finally said, hey let me test it out. So for the past month I been researching what kind of ads I should put on my site and Chikita seems to be the most rewarding type of advertising program for my site.

I operate a sneaker website (PUMATALK.com) we discuss all kinds of PUMA sneakers and PUMA sportwear. The site has been up since March 06 and i'm in the top 10-20 on google for the keyword "PUMA". So in terms of how Im doing in SE's im doing well for someone who's been active less than a year however the important thing is the content on one's site and how relevant it is towards your subject (in my case it's PUMA) moreover how relevant/helpful it is for the consumer or the visitor! My site is extremely helpful and the content is quality!

Now - the reason I just wrote this whole description and "biography" on my site is to give you an idea of where Im' going. I truely believe after reviewing the site Chikita will be beneficial for me, however i gotta test it out and we'll see how it goes.

Ok - after reading so many posts in the Chikita section, I've noticed a trend (a pattern) here, and please correct me if I am wrong - most people who have experienced bad and poor revenue with Chikita are the one's who have poor quality content on their site. As poor quality content on anyone's site will not benefit them inwhere really (SE's or Adsense or Chikita or anything...). It's pretty obvious folks, if you are running a quality site with top notch content that is relevant/helpful to your visitor and it would only make sense your site and Chikita to work together.

Now be honest - for those who have experienced bad/poor revenue with Chikita, do you really believe it's the program? Or would you honestly admit it's your poor content on your website?

And this is what I am curious to find out - Im not interested on how Chikita works, on how much it pays and so on... I want to know from you - did Chikita work for you? If so, is your site well optimized in SE's? Do you have quality content on your site? Do you have over 10 000 unique visitors a month? All of these qualities, in my opinion, serve to manipulate SE's and Advertising programs (Adsense/Chikita....)

My best & Im curious to read your posts (I apologize in advance if I might sound a bit harsh discounting a site that lacks quality content, but the fact remains SE's will not position a lacking site in top positions therefore Chikita will not generate high income for your site - so it's not really the program "in my opinion" as much as it is your site that you need to blame! Yes or No?).

I would strongly have to agree with that sentiment. Chitika performs quite well over at iAudiophile.net, and we have a site strongly geared towards reviews, high quality content and good news.

No offence to a lot of people on these forums, but I feel that they build sites purely for the sake of making money, thus cramming them with as many ads as possible, while doing as little work as possible and then just leaving the site online to linger and hope it generates some money.

Agreed!!! Again no offense but this is pure critique! While reading alot of negative comments towards Chikita and how people said they didn't make money and so on I decided to personally check most of the site of the one's who have exprienced poor income with Chikita and I can honestly say they lack thus it makes sense they weren't able to generate money.

You need quality content, constant updating, you need a market, you need to have enough people visit the site, the site has to be optimized and so on... then once you have some kind of stability and quality you can think of ads!

In my opinion, Chikita looks best for advertising for people who are runing a review and product critique site. The ads just blend in with the rest of the site as opposed to Adsense.

    my best,
