Why is Google's description of my pages so poor?

    Hi all,
I'm bamboozled by this one. I've created a new site on Heroes (the TV series), and google is spidering it well, but all the listings in google search results basically contain the tagline from WordPress, and nothing else.

Has anybody got any idea why this is?

Here's the URL for the search results: http://www.google.com/search?q=heroesdiary&hl=en&rlz=1B3GGGL_enFR177FR229&filter=0

Spoiler Warning!: If you're not up to date with watching Season 2 of Heroes, you might not want to even glance at the site!

Thanks for any help in advance,
    Andy

google is using your description meta tag. Change those and you'll change what google displays

Actually Google, is just using the meta tag description sometimes. Almost of the time Google snippet or get the description from the body contents...:p

That's what I thought, which is why I can't understand why the text shown in the search results doesn't vary...

Ah, dumb, dumb, dumb. I just did a search for "heroesdiary", as listed above, and I get the same text for each page.

But searching for "heroesdiary mohinder" gives some varying text.

Obviously, the search term has a direct impact on the text snippets shown.

    Thanks for responding guys.

Try using All In One SEO pack, a plugin for Wordpress, it lets you assign different Meta description tags to each post.
