I guess not, they are the special partner for Google and they earn some revenue for that. And about suing, do you mean "Internet Explorer" with Windows on Russia? read the news.
Hi, I am not sure but Google is big search engine and when you download any Browser it already saved if you want to Change it you can do it.
I don't think Microsoft ever sued for promoting IE with its OS. What is illegal in it. Firefox is a opensource browser, it can include any search engine by default and they choose the best.
It's a mutual agreement. Mozilla got some pennies for every visitors came from built-in Firefox's search box. That's why then Google develop their own browser: Chrome. With that, money won't go out from the company
In Firefox for Mac (I assume it works also for PCs), you can change the default search engine. For example, say you want Yahoo! to be the default search engine. Here's what you do: • Click the tiny down arrow in the search box in the upper right corner of your Firefox window. • Click "Manage Search Engines". • Click Yahoo! and then click "Move Up" until Yahoo! is at the top of your list. • Then single-click on Yahoo. Don't forget this step. • Click "OK" (or "Save", or whatever button your PC format gives you to click). • Yahoo! is now your default Firefox search engine! P.S. It's even easier for Safari users. Just go to Preferences > General. Then from the dropdown menu you can select your default search engine.
Yes that ia what I want to say that settings can be changed. Any other search engine also can be set as default search engine for any browser.
If this was made by mutual agreement, then everythung is o'k. if everything is o'k and google do not have any cases in court, they have an agreement. So, i think google is an official parnter of mozilla and opera and that's why is a default search engine.
Money talks - they get paid to show G as the default SE, users love it, everyone is happy except for MS, Ask, and the rest of SE industry.
Microsoft owned both the browser and the operating system this was seen by the governing bodies as anti-competitive as Google and FF are not connecting it is not covered with this anti-competitive agreement and hence they can get away with it.
The difference in this case is that Google is not a Browser, the reason why Microsoft was sued was they made it almost impossible for the OS to work if you tried to remove some Microsoft components, if you don't like the search engine you can easily change it
