Why is Google not ranking my web pages on the search engine

    Hi
I am trying to figure out a very important problem which my website is facing from last 1 month.

I have 70% unique content on my website with no spam links. For some reason my web-pages are not being shown on the Google search engines (if you type the keywords) whereas the same content being added to the RSS feed website named Salon ranks those pages in the search engines.

The pages from the website have been indexed and on my Google webmasters tool it shows that it is not a duplicate content.

Can someone please tell me why the pages from Salon website rank and show up in the search results. Whereas the same keywords typed in don't show the pages from the website.

    Please Advice
    Thanks

so before 1 month, your site was showing on search results?

having unique content is fine but you will not rank high or be found on search results if you are not doing proper on-page optimization and link building. you build enough backlinks with anchor text which will help you rank well in the long run

How competitive are your keywords? If you have tough competitors who are already at the top then you'll have a hard time beating them down. Just continue what you're doing and try gain more backlinks. Do a little bit of SMO to your website, it can actually help you gain natural backlinks and traffic. You can also try using link bait methods.

This is actually not a problem but Google has no obligation to rank anyone website specifically. The most crucial part for a good and stable ranking in Google comprises with the main two factors

    1. Quality backlinks from high editorial website
    2. Domain age + content age + quality of content

If your content have been synchronized with RSS feed it does not mean you have got backlinks after all. Sometime it could hurt your own content if you overdoing it.

Another important point you should go and check is how variation of your anchor text / how much ratio between homepage backlinks and inner pages backlinks (aka. deep link). You should not have only link pointing to homepage but inner page should have it as well.

    Hi Guys
Thanks a lot for your important remarks.

My website was ranking good for some keywords in the search engine results about a month ago. But all of a sudden it stopped. It did not ranked but the pages are being showing up from the links (Twitter,Facebook,SALON,Identi etc). Salon website shows up all the pages (for certain keywords) and those pages are ranking well on the search results but not itself the web page.

I have been doing back linking on a regular basis. But i have tough competition for the keywords and have a tough market. But the strangest thing which i have found is that the WEBPAGE itself do not show up in the search result when you type in the keywords where-as the results from the website SALON does show up for the same keywords. IS THAT STRANGE OR NOT.

I was reading about filtering on google webmasters. Is is possible that my website has been filtered down and thats why it is not showing up on the search results. About some time ago i had some spammy links to the website which were later deleted completely.

    Please Advice.

It seems that your site is deindexed. Try to put a sitemap on your site.

    You also need to do some proper on-page optimization works;
Trying your best to create quality and relevant backlinks for your sites is also a necessity in order to gain a higher ranking in Google.

Perhaps you failed to get your site quality backlinks coming from reputable and aged sources. If the post above means you've achieved the rank however lost it last month then your competition might have done so well with their SEO practices. So to speak, you need to keep up and double your time. Getting the ranking that you want won't just come in handy. You need to patience work to achieve and maintain it.

There are lot of reasons behind the site has suddenly out of search. One of the most important factor is content of your site. The content should be periodically updates. Also check for penalization of your site, there may be chance that site is been penalized by search engine.

first of all check if your site still exists in SERP - type in "site:website.com" website.com - replace with yours
70% of content is unique but what about the rest 30% ? check for duplicates on copyscape
